If it has been in the news, local or national, it is fair game for discussion. Topics have ranged from the serious - such as Scottish independence, warfare in the middle east - to the amusing such as head transplants and other proposed plastic surgery.
We meet once a month at each others' homes and members suggest the topics a few days ahead of the meetings usually. Between us our viewpoints tend to range across most of the political boundaries but this does not seem to have put us off, it is more interesting than just agreeing all the time! There are one or two vacancies in the group.
Recent Topics for Discussion
The role of religion in many conflicts has been considered. We thought about those migrating across the seas in various directions looking for better chances in life - many of us had relatives and friends who have done similar or have tried it ourselves, though probably in better transport. Megan Markle and Harry have featured in discussion, as has Donald Trump.
