On the Groups Page you will find information on each of the groups
u3a is about sharing, there is no distinction between the learners and the teachers. Our groups cover as wide a range of topics and activities, limited only by the imagination of our members. No qualifications are needed or offered. Learning is for its own sake, with enjoyment being the prime motive. In some groups the Facilitator has an extensive knowledge of the subject and will lead each meeting. In others the Facilitator coordinates the group meetings, but all members share in the running of the group. There is a social aspect to all groups and lasting friendships are made. Most of our groups are small – 5 to 10 - and many meet in members’ homes, once or twice a month. Some groups meet in a hall or a pub and others are outdoor activities.
When a group is held in the Group Facilitator's or a member's home, it is suggested that members pay 50p to cover the cost of refreshments. However, groups may choose to make alternative arrangements. When a group meets in a hall, the group members are responsible for the hall hire costs.
